"Saturday-in-the-Park"
October 8th, 5pm-7pm at the New Braunfels Public Library - National View the Moon Day - Join RavenStar, the New Braunfels Astronomy Club and the New Braunfels Public Library for an evening of celebrating all things Lunar, featuring the Star Lab Planetarium, pre-school story time and crafts, lunar rover buidling (ages 10 and up) and telecope moon viewing. RavenStar's Park-Schooling nature programs are designed specifically for elementary-age homeschoolers and are a great way to teach your homeschool student in nature's classroom. Programs begin at 11:00 am. $5 per student/$15 max per family. Pre-registration is required and payment is due at time of registration. Please note that classes have a 20 student minimum/30 maximum and classes not meeting the minimum number of registrants may be cancelled or re-scheduled. October 11th & 19th - Nature Journaling: Join us to learn more about the four main styles of writing: Narrative, Expository, Persuasive and Descriptive using nature as the inspiration to create your masterpiece. We’ll also be cover examples of these writing styles from
nature's literary greats, Whitman, Thoreau, Muir, Abbey, Leopold, etc.
November 8th - Astronomy 101: We'll' cover the basics of star-navigating and identifying constellations, including how to find the North Star (Polaris), Learning how to identify the parts of a telescope and basic telescoping skills with the NB Astronomy Club and hearing tales of constellation mythology
in the Star Lab Planetarium. PLEASE NOTE: THE ASTRONOMY 101 SCHEDULED FOR THE 16TH HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO LOW REGISTRATION. WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING EVERYONE IN THE PARK SOON!
